Inky was puppeteered by myself for a puppetry visual and musical storytelling play I was a produced and directed at RWMCD. First I completed a scale drawing of 132cm before creating a rough maquette in the style of bunraku. I planned the structure inside on tracing paper, transferred to hardply and used a Jigsaw machine. For support, I drilled 8mm screws into the worbla head, wooden structure and PVC pipe. Lastly, the cap is made of plastazote.

Puppeteers: Lara Rees and Mabel Westwood
The final 3D print is made of PLA for sustainability. Prior to Flints black paint, the hands are fillered and sanded by my assistant Deio Williams.
5 weeks of rehearsals divising with the crew impacted the final outcome of Inky. As the puppet represents the short lifespan of the main character, I altered the chest to allow organsa to bleed out.
