Welsh National Opera: ABC of Opera - Rossini Costume Design

For The Crazy Classicals and The Curse, the Director Mark Llewelyn required a chef design with a large presence as Gionchino Rossini's nickname was Monsieur Crescendo (Mr. Getting Louder). In Mark Llewelyn's illustrative book, the character is called Tortellini Rossini so I experimented with garments made of food.

First ideas. Gioachino Rossini was known for food, so it was important to include ‘cake’ or ‘pasta’ while maintaining/exaggerating the shape of the garment for the period (classical)
