This is one of the Costume Illustrations I did while working directly with the Designer Carl Davies. The actress was non-binary, so it was important to create a balanced look while maintaining the sassy personality of the character. Martha is a musical about the repression of deaf people and uses sign language to mix historical events with a dystopian future. I worked from meetings and mood-boards to produce a sketch for approval, and then final illustration.
