Costume Concept Art - Puppetry Lighting WorkShop, World Stage Design Shardjah

Director: Sabrina Hamilton
Puppet Maker: Mabel Westwood
Costume Maker (Jean-Pierre): Melody Bainbridge-Todd
Costume Maker (Sabine): Dora Croally
Venue: S4C

I had a day to create concept illustrations for Sabrina Hamilton's lighting workshop. The brief entailed rough 18th century costumes for bunraku puppets. I collaborated with Mabel Westwood to ensure the final outcome of the characters matched her sculpted faces.

These were created with Photoshop.

Although I could experiment with the shape and style of garment, the fabric had been chosen to create challenges for the lighting designer - Jean-Pierre's coat needed to blend in with the black backdrop.
